Xeroderma Pigmentosum Disorder

Xeroderma Pigmentosum is a life-threatening inherited disorder affecting skin, eyes and nervous system. A defect in the process of repairing ultraviolet-induced DNA damage results in: severe sunburn-type reactions to daylight; skin cancers in exposed skin from early childhood; eye disease; and progressive neurological degeneration in 20-30% of patients.
