Retinoblastoma is a malignant tumour of the retina and usually presents in children under the age of two. It is an aggressive eye cancer which can result in the loss of vision and in extreme cases, death.
The treatment is a combination of surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy dependant on the needs of the individual child. The service is effective and death from retinoblastoma in children is extremely rare.
