Neuromyelitis Optica Treatment

NMO is a rare inflammatory demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system that typically presents as severe optic neuritis and longitudinally extensive myelitis often followed by further severe attacks, which usually result in permanent disability (visual loss, limb weakness, respiratory muscle weakness).

There are high mortality and morbidity rates associated with Neuromyelitis Optica/Devics Disease if not diagnosed and treated appropriately.
