Insulin-resistant diabetes service

Insulin resistant diabetes occurs because of either a genetic condition or because the individual has developed antibodies to insulin. In addition to the usual complications of diabetes (renal failure, stroke, etc) the condition can also affect the liver and can result in pancreatitis. Treatment involves dietary control, insulin and, if appropriate, drug treatment.
