Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) supports babies and children who have severe potentially reversible respiratory failure by oxygenating the blood through an artificial lung machine. Patients require intensive care and are usually referred to their local hospital once they are well enough to discontinue ECMO.
The three centres in England continue to work closely together (alongside the Glasgow centre in Scotland) to ensure a consistent and high quality service for patients with ECMO across the country.
Below is a list of further information of the service featured on this page. If you require any further information please contact us.
