More than 75,000 people responded to the public consultation on the future of children's heart services, which ran from 1 March to 1 July 2011, making it one of the largest ever carried out by the NHS. Ipsos MORI, an independent and expert third party, has analysed all responses and published a report which is available here. To read the press release, please click here.
Responses received by letter or e-mail from associations, organisations and international clinicians and health bodies during consultation have also been made available by Ipsos MORI. In order to ensure that all the issues raised in these responses can be fully considered they have been sent in their entirety to members of the decision making body, the Joint Committee of Primary Care Trusts. Please see the useful links on the right hand side of the page to access these responses.
In addition to the independent report of the responses to public consultation, Ipsos MORI conducted qualitative research with parents and young people using congenital heart services and Black and Minority Ethnic groups. This work was undertaken in order to explore the issues raised throughout consultation in depth.
These reports are part of a number of publications to be considered by the Joint Committee of Primary Care Trusts (JCPCT), the decision-making body. Additional data being considered as part of the decision making process is as follows:
