The National Burn Care Standards were developed by a specialist multi-disciplinary team, following the publication of the National Burn Care Review. The standards reflected the 143 recommendations of the National Burn Care Review and were first published in 2003. They have been reviewed and updated since.
The National Network for Burn Care has recently undertaken a review of the standards. A sub-group, chaired by Owen Jones (Network Manager for Midlands Burn Care Network) has developed a revised version of the standards which will be formally released during 2012.
