NHS Specialised Services

Burn Care Networks

A key recommendation of the National Burn Care Review was that NHS burn injury services work within Network’s of care.

NHS Burn Care Service Providers (including Burn Care Centres, Units and Facilities) are required to work collaboratively to deliver coordinated services to patients.

Burn Care Services work in collaboration with their local hospital Emergency Departments to ensure patients are accurately assessed and referred onto the right specialised provider where required.   Specialised out-reach and rehabilitation services for burn care involve burn care services working with local health services, including community services, across their Network.

There are 4 Burn Care Networks covering England and Wales.
